ACCA signs MoU with University of Central Punjab
  
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the University of Central Punjab (UCP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Accounting and Finance profession in Pakistan.
The highlight of the MOU is the curriculum alignment and mutual recognition of both qualifications whereby accounting and finance students at UCP will have the opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree through an accelerated route and complete their masters studying ACCA (professional stage) simultaneously. This will allow students to pass out with an undergraduate degree, a master’s degree as well as a globally recognized ACCA qualification.
Another feature of this MOU isthe recognition of ACCA membership for direct entry to UCPs MBA programme. This will open new doors for ACCA members who would like to top up their qualification profile with an academic degree.
The ceremony was attended by Sajjeed Aslam, Head of ACCA Pakistan and Mr. Faisal Azeem, Head of Education North and Sabahat Khan, BRM-Learning. The representatives from UCP included AzharIkram, Dean of UCP, Muhammad Zafarullah, Pro-rector UCP and Ather Azim, Associate Dean.
Sajjeed Aslam, Head of ACCA Pakistan stated, “I strongly believe that this is an excellent opportunity for students of UCP to top up their academic degrees with a globally recognised professional accountancy qualification. ACCAs are known to be complete financial professionals, having breadth and depth of skills, which are needed by employers.”
AzharIkram, Dean UCP commented that, “This alignment with ACCA, which is a world renowned professional accountancy body would give our students an edge and would help our students gain specialist knowledge and excellent accountancy skills.”
Muhammad Zafarullah, Pro-rector UCP added that graduates with dual qualification will have better acceptability in local and international job markets which have become increasing competitive and thisembedded program would equip our students with the expertise and experience to work in governments, regulators and professional organisations.
